The disappointment of last model’s release more than a year ago led to an expensive overhaul of the company’s AI operations.

Meta on Wednesday released an artificial intelligence model, Muse Spark, it touts as smarter and faster than what it offered before shaking up its Superintelligence Labs unit.

This is the first model Meta has released under its Superintelligence Labs, led by former ScaleAI CEO Alexandr Wang.

The new model is competitive with rival AI models, according to data from Meta, but won’t be widely available outside Meta’s own product ecosystem.
